Swiss Bonnet – Digital Pattern

The classic style and design of antique bonnets make them as popular now as when they were created. This beautiful reproduction is made of white heirloom batiste, embroidered Swiss edging, tatted insertion and tatted edging. Construction is very easy! The bonnet band is designed with two strips of embroidered Swiss edging, each finished with a quarter-inch hem pin stitched in place. Delicate tatting is inserted between the bonnet band and bonnet back. Narrow tatted edging borders the bonnet to frame a sweet little face. A narrow casing is stitched at the neckline as well as the back opening of the bonnet. One-eighth-inch wide silk satin ribbon is inserted into the casings and pulled up to create soft gathers.
